You can hire a kayak from about 500 THB (USD 20) for the day. Getting to the resort from Pattaya takes 3 hours by car to Laem Ngob Pier, followed by a 45-minute speedboat transfer. There is a good coffee and cake shop on the hill above the pier.Nearby is Wat Samakeetham, Buddhist temple which also overlooks the bay and is open to all.
There are a few options for getting to the island depending on where you are starting your journey.If you want to travel quicker, there is also an option to fly from Bangkok to Trat, followed by a taxi to Laem Ngop Pier, then a speedboat to Koh Mak.
