I find there's so many of the same (now boring) books out there that once I found this I couldn't put it down!! Absurd plot, dreadful dialogue, terrible sex scenes - absolutely nothing to recommend this over-acclaimed novel.
Beautifully written at times, and with an interesting, plausible story. She orders furniture and bedding from At Kya's trial in 1970, contradictory testimony is given. Bitte versuchen Sie es später noch einmal.Wir konnten Ihre Stimmabgabe leider nicht speichern. 10/10.

I am extremely stingy with my compliments for good books, but this tale is well-deserving of the praise. Kya's lawyer, Tom Milton, debunks the prosecutor's arguments on the basis that there was no concrete evidence to convict Kya. Where the Crawdads Sing is at once an exquisite ode to the natural world, a heartbreaking coming-of-age story, and a surprising tale of possible murder. 'Where the Crawdads Sing' was the most-sold fiction book on Amazon in 2019, and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Lucy Alibar has penned the script for the project. Eventually, he does not return at all, and Kya assumes he is dead, making him the last of the family to leave her alone in the marsh. This was one of the most disappointing books I have read in quite a long time. 2.639 Personen fanden diese Informationen hilfreichRezension aus den Vereinigten Staaten vom 1. The beautiful descriptions of the land and the marsh, I have never been to the marshes but the way Cordelia describes it through Kya it is so easy to imagine!!
Januar 2019 Said boy, having achieved this Pygmalion-like transformation, then departs to do his own high-class degree, promising to return to his true love, who hangs around the swamp waiting.
Unable to read or write, Kya relies on painting with her Ma's old watercolors the birds or shores where she found the items. März 2019
Ma's old cardboard suitcase that had been in the closet in the marsh for 19 years would be covered in mildew, Fireflies would have been called lightening bugs. Thank you for the experience- I will carry it with me for the rest of my life. The first timeline describes the life and adventures of a young girl named Kya as she grows up isolated in the marsh of North Carolina from 1952–1969. The notion of an illiterate marsh girl self-educating to the level of an academic research scientist beggars belief. Kya's life become part of mine and the characters ceased to live on the page... they were alive with me and I was in the marsh, feeling every feather - the air, creatures and the plants. Of the last dozen or so books I've read, only two others earned five complete stars by me: She Read to Us in the Late Afternoons: A Life in Novels by Kathleen Hill, and Circe by Madeline Miller.1.159 Personen fanden diese Informationen hilfreichRezension aus dem Vereinigten Königreich vom 13. Tate finds a hidden box of her old things and realizes that Kya wrote poems as Amanda Hamilton, the poet frequently quoted throughout the book. Tate also finds, underneath the poems, the shell necklace Chase wore until he died. About half this book was good. Jumpin' became a trusted friend and so many moments touched my very soul.
