I think the island has ruined my nature expectations everywhere :)And I am totally trying out the Churrascaria place next time I go there. We were not disappointed. Very dramatic scenery with opportunities to walk both in the mountains and along the sea . We went there for the views. Trust me!It is quite the uphill hike.
I have to say, after being there, everything else in Europe seems so small and boring haha! The main strip on the water has plenty of restaurants to choose from offering great seafood or the local beef, and most have terraces to enjoy the views. This bus takes nearly three hours, but the scenery you will witness will blow your mind. It took us ages to get to Sao Vicente, as expected, but when we arrived we found one of the most naturally beautiful seaside villages I had ever laid eyes on. Very quite and amazing views from the room. This church was built in the seventeenth century, it has in its main facade a Mannerist portal and, inside, magnificent paintings on the ceiling and an altarpiece in gilt. We hiked in the evenings and waited around to awe at the sunsets. The property is peaceful and spotless. They eventually gave up. While the restaurant was closed (seasonally or permanently- we have no idea), the grounds were stunning and fun to explore. Super fresh air.
